SWING INTO ACTION GOLF TOURNAMENT
Golf With Purpose. Invest in the Future. Strengthen Our Community.
Join People’s Independent Church of Christ – GATHER LA for the Swing Into Action Golf Tournament, an exciting day of golf, fellowship, networking, and community impact.
This tournament is about more than what happens on the golf course. It is an opportunity to swing into action and invest in two important initiatives that continue PICC’s longstanding commitment to education, economic empowerment, and community development.
For nearly a century, People’s Independent Church of Christ has invested in the education of young people by helping send students to college with four-year scholarships.
The PICC Scholarship Fund represents our belief that education can open doors, expand opportunity, and change the trajectory of a young person’s life.
Through the Swing Into Action Golf Tournament, we are strengthening this legacy and helping ensure that future generations of students have access to the resources and support they need to pursue higher education and achieve their goals.
When we invest in a student, we invest in a family—and ultimately, we invest in the future of our community.
Relaunching the People’s Community Credit Union
The tournament will also support the relaunch of the People’s Community Credit Union, an important part of PICC’s vision for expanding economic opportunity and financial empowerment.
Our goal is to re-establish a community-centered financial institution designed to help individuals and families gain greater access to financial resources, education, and opportunities.
The vision includes promoting financial literacy, responsible banking, savings, credit development, homeownership, entrepreneurship, affordable lending, and generational wealth-building.
The relaunch of the People’s Community Credit Union reflects a simple but powerful commitment: our community should have access to institutions and resources that help people not only survive—but build, own, grow, and prosper.
More Than a Golf Tournament
Whether you are an experienced golfer, a casual player, business leader, community partner, sponsor, or simply someone who believes in the mission, we invite you to join us.
Come enjoy a great day of golf, food, music, fellowship, friendly competition, networking, and purpose while connecting with community leaders, business professionals, partners, friends, and supporters.
Every golfer, sponsor, donor, and supporter helps us move these initiatives forward.
Swing for education.
Swing for economic empowerment.
Swing for opportunity.
Swing for our community.
SWING INTO ACTION.
We look forward to seeing you on the green!

Welcome Home: We Are Family!
Welcome to Gather LA
At People's Independent Church of Christ, also known as Gather LA, we believe that everyone has a place at the table. Our doors are open wide, and our hearts are ready to welcome you exactly as you are—no perfect people allowed, just a community of real individuals seeking faith, hope, and connection together. Whether you're facing challenges, setbacks, or a desire for deeper spiritual growth, you are not defined by your past or your current situation. Here, we believe in a Great God who meets you in the midst of any 'messy' situation to remind you of your true purpose and destiny in Him. Our purpose for gathering is to: Glorify, Grow, and Go.
We aim to glorify God in worship services, grow in the Word as disciples of Jesus Christ, and go to serve our community through impactful community service beyond the church walls, reaching South LA and beyond with love and purpose.
Come expecting God to move in powerful ways. Expect healing, the breaking of chains, and a renewed sense of who you are in Christ. We are a community rooted in faith, growing in truth, and going in love. Your journey of faith, hope, and community starts here.
We have a seat saved just for you! Join us in person this Sunday.
